Dharini grew up in Bombay. On completing a Bachelor’s degree in English from St. Xavier’s College, India’s leading school for the humanities, she moved to England for a Master’s in Twentieth Century Literature from the University of Leeds, and a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Sheffield. She also studied in Greece, on the island of Paros, as a student of the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts. Here, she pursued creative writing, painting, art history, and Greek literature.
Dharini now resides in Delhi, where she writes. She divides her time between Bombay, where her family (including eight dogs) lives, the capital, and the mountains of the north. The Earth’s Been Well Thumbed, Dharini’s debut novel, will be published by Amaryllis in 2011. She is presently working on her second manuscript, These Our Bodies Possessed by Light, also to be published by Amaryllis. An excerpt from her second manuscript will be published in Zubaan’s anthology of erotica. |
